Blue Jays sign George Springer, Kirby Yates

The Jays make their long-awaited big signing, making a serious push to compete in the AL East in 2021.

Free agent outfielder George Springer has signed with the Blue Jays, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported on Tuesday night. Jon Heyman later added that the deal is for six years and $150 million. One of the big free agent dominoes is off the board, which likely means we’ll start seeing a bit more action in the coming weeks in the ramp-up to spring training.
